Da Brat is back!!

Da Brat makes a lovely appearance in the upcoming issue of Vibe for the summer chic issue. Da Brat was recently released from prison and made a stomping debut on the remix for Chris Brown's "Look at me now." She has always been known for her tomboy style but when she involves into her "pretty girl" style she looks great!!!

Amy Winehouse dead at age 27!!

Soul singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment at the age of 27. She is the same age as other beloved musicians who died at the age of 27 such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Janis Joplin. She pinned such hits such as "Rehab" which was symbolic of some of the drug issues that seemed to plague her throughout her adult life. She was able to infuse soul, jazz, and rock into her powerhouse voice and recently was set to tour Europe but ended up cancelling dates due to personal issues. She will definitely be missed. So sad!!!!!

Debt Ceiling Crisis!

The August 2nd debt ceiling crisis is looming and many states and other local municipalities are scramming to search for funding just in case funding and spending take a nose dive. Are you prepared for another recession?? It seems like we haven't gotten out of the most recent one and now we are headed for a double dose. Do you believe the wealthy should be taxed at higher rates. And, if you did not know the wealthy would not be taxed any higher than in the past it is just that the Bush tax cuts lowered and sometimes eliminated taxes for those making over $250,000. Is it fair???????

Mary Mary on GMA!

Gospel winning duo, Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary stopped by Good Morning America to share a clip of their new video "Survive" (which is my favorite off of their new album "Something Big") and discuss their partnership with the American Red Cross and the disaster victims across the nation. Erica Campbell also announced that she is expecting her third child with producer, hubby, Warryn Campbell. Congrats! If you did not know, I am an absolute Mary Mary fan and Erica is my fave (I love her annointed spirit and sense of style)! You can check out Mary Mary on Sunday's Best on BET, Sundays at 8pm/7c!

JLo and Marc Anthony Split!!!

I guess the third time is not a charm for golden girl Jennifer Lopez! Her and Marc Anthony have split after seven years of marriage (I thought 7 was a lucky number). Rumors are circulating that Marc's controlling behavior is behind the split! Either way they are both known for being able to attract beautiful mates in their lives. All I can think about is American Idol and the chemistry that they had during their performance!
